To keep your Mimi & August bathing suit in excellent condition, please follow our care instructions listed below:
Chlorine used in pools is distributed through jets during swimming hours and can break the elastic fibers of your swimsuit. Sea salt, sweat, sunscreen and tanning cream are also harmful to your swimsuit elasticity. Always rinse yourself (or the swimsuit) immediately after leaving a pool, spa or other swimming area. Wash your suit in fresh cold water as soon as possible after wearing. Use a gentle soap that contains no moisturizers, especially created to remove any accumulated chlorine, salt, etc.
Do not use chlorine to wash your suit. Your swimsuit should dry flat, away from sun rays. Braces are made from swimsuit material should also be washed with the same care if they are in contact with chlorinated water or salt water.
Make sure your suit is completely dry before putting away. Never, ever wash your suit in the washing machine, even on the delicate/hand-wash cycle. Water temperatures in washing machines are incredibly hard to regulate and the detergents made for machines are far too strong for swimwear fabric.
Please pay attention to your swimsuit when sitting on rough surfaces such as cement or untreated wood. It could scratch the fabric of your swimsuit and cause irreparable damage. Caring for your suit in the appropriate manner is the best way possible to ensure that it will not deteriorate in an untimely manner.
Additional Care Tips
Do not pack a wet suit with other garments. Certain lotions and sprays may stain suits.
